stellenbosch

Pink, red and White was the colours of celebration at the Stellenbosch Slow Food Market for their annual Strawberry Festival where guests could experience varieties of Strawberry infused and created delicacies such as Berry Cordials, Strawberry Dacarees, Strawberry Pesto, Berry Ice Cream, Rudi’s Strawberry Sausage, Strawberry bakes and strawberry jams. Crafters even infused berries into their soaps, bath salts and designs!

I was fortunate enough to attend the aforementioned event in lavish style, with a reserved table, roses, Saltare MCC and the most exquisite strawberries on display – truly a day filled with more than the expected treats! The market itself is filled with indulgences – from amazingly created Paella, Dark Chocolate and Nougat infused Brownies, a variety of cheeses accompanied by a selection of artisan breads, salads and of course, a firm favourite - macarons. Our very own Head Pastry Chef, Lorraine Meaney would have been in heaven!

Stellenbosch certainly did not dissapoint, offerings us a gorgeous 31 degrees! Located at the Oude Libertas Amphitheatre, also on offer are live performances on scheduled days – an amazing experience in itself. Bring your picnic basket, beverages and enjoy this one-of-a-kind offering.
