En-route on the 5km V&A Waterfront Running Route

It’s 06:00 am and the sun is just peeking out and showing off some beautiful  rays. As usual  Cape Town delivers phenomenal sunrises (as well as, sunsets), and this morning was no different.  The new 2.5km and 5km running routes was recently launched in the V&A Waterfront and Karen and I attempted the 5km route – indeed a fun way to start the day!

Nature truly offers magnificent scenery and with views of Cape Grace, the Big Wheel, the Working Harbour, docked yachts, playful seals, Cape Town Stadium and the beautiful sea setting – one can only enjoy the run with a smile on your face.

We were a little silly and took some pictures on (and in) the 2014 Design Indaba Yellow Structure, perfectly ‘framing’ Table Mountain (and of course, Cape Grace)!

The route has some twist and turns as well as a few hills which make it fun even though it’s not too difficult. We recommend it to families, single joggers as well as couples wanting to exercise outdoors
