Friday 30 and Saturday 31 March will see ‘Africa’s Grandest Gathering’ of jazz talent at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival in the CTICC. Attracting a mere six thousand music lovers in 2000, it has grown to become the defining music event on the African continent. Attracting 34,000 people last year, it is now voted number 4 jazz festival in the world.
Headliners like James Ingram, Jamaican reggae band Third World, Patti Austin and Kevin Mahogany fly in from around the globe, while local jazz legend Hugh Masekela will rally an army of musical giants for a ‘Mama Africa’ tribute to our sadly missed songbird Miriam Makeba.
Tickets are fiercely contested so act now.
