MAGIC OF BUBBLES CAP CLASSIQUE & CHAMPAGNE FESTIVAL

Bubbles have been on our mind since the launch of the book Celebrating Méthod Cape Classique in September. The section entitled “Cocktails with Grace” shares some of Bascule Bar’s cocktail recipe secrets. How about a Ciroc Sparkling Cosmo, Cape Gooseberry le Blanc, Chocolat Mousseux or Lady Grace? We have mentioned an award-winning Cap Classic in a previous post, but now’s your chance to quaff a whole lot more as well as some fantastic French Champagnes.

Be sure to visit Franschhoek for the Magic of Bubbles Cap Classique & Champagne Festival which is taking place from 2 – 4 December. Participating wineries include Boschendal, Colmant, Dieu Donne, Graham Beck Wines, Krone, La Motte, Morena, Môreson, Pierre Jourdan, Simonsig, Steenberg, Rickety Bridge and Villiera. World renowned champagnes will be represented by brands such as Billecart Salmon, Tribaut and Veuve Clicquot and local restaurants will be offering delicious delicacies to match the bubbles. Live entertainment will provide the weekend’s soundtrack.

The festival is open from 6 – 10pm on Friday 2 December and from noon to 5pm on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December.

Congratulations to MICHELLE  vd WESTHUIZEN  - you are our lucky winner of 2 tickets to the Magic of Bubbles Cap Classique & Champagne Festival on Sunday 4 December!

    Most interesting bubbly paring was…

Blue cheese crumble, apple and apple sorbet paired with a fruity prosecco – was unbelievable!

My most interesting food and bubbly pairing:

Miso-cured salmon with fennel mousse, broad beans and summer greens, paired with L’Avenir Brut Rosé…yummy!! :)

I paired a lovely bottle of Genevieve MCC with dorado and mango ceviche and a salad of edamame and baby corn with gruyere shavings. So wonderful! That was last summer, time to get thinking about what to try this summer! The chance to sample some bubbly this weekend would sure help that process…

My favourite wine pairing is German white cheese (which is like a feta, but is has less fat) with a glass of Graham Beck Brut.
