The V&A Waterfront has also extended their trading hours for the festive season; it will be in effect from 8-24 December 2012 – where all tenants will be open for business until 22:00 in the evening.

Shadow over Stones – Photographic Exhibition: 1st November 2012 – 31st January 2013
This journey has taken him seven years. Starting out in 2005 he has have travelled all over South Africa. The theme ‘Shadow over Stones’ is about the disappearing koppies in the South African landscape through industry and nature.
He pursued darkened Nimbus clouds over the landscape as this symbolised the tragedy of the disappearing landscapes.

Fives Futbol: 1st November 2012 – 31st January 2013
Fives Futbol’s newest addition to their five-a-side family is at the V&A Waterfront. Come and show off your skills in the fastest growing form of football in the world. A street soccer vibe, surrounded by Table Mountain, Cape Town’s CBD, and the V&A Waterfront.

Sisley (Paris) introducing Christian Guglietta: 1st December & 3rd December 2012
A genius with colour and style, he whizzes about the globe showing women how to maximize their potential, spills secrets and plays with colour palettes. Christian will be showing us the latest looks, and help you get the look you want.
Christian speaks 4 languages (French, English, Spanish and Italian) and is passionate about is work and making his clients feel special. Recognized as an expert in this field, Christian is considered a truly gifted artist.

Summer Sunset Concerts: 1st December 2012 – 27th January 2013
Visitors can expect FREE summer sunset concerts featuring leading South African artists, a choral and brass festival and in-mall entertainment with roaming carollers. By the end of January 2013, the newly renovated Amphitheatre will have hosted more than 50 free music performances and dance acts in the beautiful open-air entertainment arena, all starting at 6pm. “The Waterfront has established a reputation for showcasing local musicians, and we will continue with this tradition, presenting artists such as Macstanley, Ard Matthews and Vicky Sampson, along with a colourful mix of popular acts such as Afrika Ablaze, Sterling EQ, Mark Haze, Plush and Bed on Bricks,” White said.

V&A Waterfront Antiques Fair: 2nd December 2012
Browse the aisles in this enchanting antiques fair for unique treasures and finds. A selection of antique collectables ranging from cutlery, porcelain crockery to Jewellery, every collectors ideal destination to find hidden treasures at affordable prices.

Kids Ahoy Festive Entertainment: 8th – 23rd December 2012
A brand new playground sporting a pirate ship, lighthouse, rowing boat and an atoll with caves will have them entertained for hours. The children’s entertainment schedule includes Rudyard Kipling’s ‘’Just So’’ stories performed on the Amphitheatre, and Zumbatomic, School of Magic and Minute to Win It on the newly constructed stage in the playground. If they are still bounding with energy, the new 20m long water feature is perfect for them to splash around in.

Red Bull Flugtag: 9th December 2012
Redbull is bringing long wings, short wings, strange wings, clever wings, weird wings and downright wacky wings to the 2012 Redbull Flugtag to be held from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 December at the V&A Waterfront’s Jetty 1. The event, based on the popular German amateur aircraft show, is a celebration of flight as competitors attempt to launch their homemade aircraft.
There are no design rules but each aircraft needs to be a maximum of 10m, a maximum of 150km and be limited to human powered flying machines. They must also be unsinkable, contain no heavy metal or loose parts and all material must be environmentally friendly.
Entrants will be required to put their machines into flight by jumping off a 6m ramp constructed over the harbour at Jetty 1. They will be judged on creativity, crowd ovations as well as the distance travelled before each aircraft ultimately crashes into the ocean.
It’s a crazy day and anything goes so be sure not to miss this epic fun event.

Carols by Candlelight: 14th December 2012
Carols by Candlelight is a tradition that originated in Australia. On 14 December, the nostalgic sound of singing will fill the air. A brass quintet from the Philharmonic Orchestra will lead the carols.

Growthpoint Properties Sundowner 10km Walk/Run: 19th December 2012
The festive season is the perfect time to celebrate SA’s great outdoors and the most charming way to enjoy a healthy dose of fresh air is with our 10km/run. The route will be along South Africa’s most beautiful shoreline, starting at the V&A Waterfront, winding along the coast through Granger Bay, Green Point Common, 3 Anchor Bay and on to Sea Point. The route turns at Pavilion Swimming Pool and returns to the V&A Waterfront finish point. Locals and holidaymakers alike are invited to join the fun by wearing something festive.

New Year’s Eve at the Market On The Wharf: 31st December 2012
Once you have recovered from Christmas festivities, you need look no further than the V&A for a New Year’s celebration second to none. At least 3 major parties will be hosted at various locations across the property featuring countless bands, DJs and live music acts, as well as a midnight fireworks show. Two big screens, one on Jetty 1 and another at Nobel Square, will make perfect viewing for those wanting to move away from the hustle and bustle of festive crowds.
