Top 5 Cape Town Venues for A New Year’s Eve Party

If you haven’t already worked out what you are doing for New Year, don’t worry! Cape Town has five of the best places to welcome in the New Year, with everything from a dinner in Signal to a 5FM party and fireworks at the V&A, to a special moment on the top of Table Mountain.

Which one is for you?

1. Cape Grace New Year’s Eve Dinner

‘Dress to Impress’ is the theme for the New Year’s Eve Dinner in Signal Restaurant at Cape Grace, with the sounds of ‘Suite Chilli’ entertaining diners with Michael Bublé numbers, rock classics and pop songs. It will be a glittering evening. R1950 pp, children R975.

2. V&A Waterfront New Year’s Eve Party

The V&A Waterfront is one big party this New Year’s eve, with restaurants making merry, live entertainment in the Amphitheatre and a party at the Market on the Wharf, plus fantastic fireworks.  See our blog post of 3 December for a full line up of V&A festive activities.

3. Kirstenbosch New Year’s Eve Concert

It’s going to be a stunner of a night at Kirstenbosch with eclectic afro band Hot Water warming up the crowd before the giant of jazz – Hugh Masakela – takes to the stage.  Price R270.

4. New Year’s Eve Live City Link Up by 5FM & Savanna in Cape Town & Ballito:

Be in two places at once with this simultaneous New Year’s Eve link up of the party on Breakwater Rooftop at the V&A Waterfront, and in the Village Centre Ballito.  The hottest dance sounds will play at both parties from 5FM DJ’s and go on early into the morning. It costs R270.

5. Top of Table Mountain:

Where else but Table Mountain for a top of the world feeling to herald in the New Year? Get to the cable car in time for the last trip up at 11pm 2012 and you can stay until the last cable car down at 1am 2013. Return tickets are R205 adult, R100 child (4-17 yrs).
