During the month of December, the Sales and Marketing Team packed their picnic bags, hats, sun glasses and sun screen for a memorable excursion around Cape Town.

We hopped on the Cape Town Red Bus at approximately 9am, which is a wonderful experience in itself. We purchased tickets for the Blue Route Tour, which stops at a variety of wine estates in and around Cape Town. With the wind in our hair and the sun giving our skin a toasty, healthy glow, we headed for our first stop−Kirstenbosch Gardens.

By 11am, the Capetonian summer sun had already reached 28 Degrees. We perched ourselves under a big tree, unpacked our picnic baskets and tucked into some delectable snacks before heading towards the newly built Boomslang bridge. Raised 12 metres above the Garden, the canopy provides a breath-taking panoramic view of the surrounding mountain, Garden and Cape Flats. It was a first-time experience for most of us, which was thoroughly enjoyable!

Before we knew it, our bus had arrived and we were ready to embark on our next excursion to Groot Constantia. This wine farm is highly acclaimed as one of South Africa’s most visited tourist attractions. Whilst we enjoyed one of the farm’s daily tastings, which included 5 wines for R40, Groot Constantia offers a variety of other activities as well, including chocolate and wine pairing as well as cellar tours. You can book a tasting by calling them on Tel: 021-794 5128 or through Webtickets.

Our third and final stop also happened to be our favourite excursion of the day−Beau Constantia. This is a boutique wine farm situated at the top of Constantia Nek. Their beautiful vines are planted to an elevation of 350 metres above sea-level, and provide panoramic views of the Stellenbosch and Helderberg Mountain ranges. This view can be fully appreciated from their modern, glass enclosed tasting room and tasting decks. What makes the estate all the more unique is their delectable cuisine. It’s not often that one can enjoy sushi and bubbly whilst overlooking a breath-taking vineyard at sunset. To reserve a table, you can contact them on 021 794 8632.

All in all, our day was absolutely magnificent and it reminded us just how much there is to do in Cape Town!
