Early March Events 2013

The month of March brings with it an array of wonderful events happening in and around Cape Town – from Design Indaba to an hilarious comedy at the Artscape Theatre – one can be certain being entertained is on the cards!

We’ve dotted down the most popular and exciting ones to keep an eye out for! Be sure to note these in your diary and book your ticket in advance, to avoid dissapointment!

1-3 March

Design Indaba Expo at CTICC. Be amazed at the creative home-grown design that is bespoke, curated and 100% local – a must for anybody with an ounce of creativity in them! Entry is R70.

1-2  March

Big Blues Music Festival in Kleinmond. This weekend of blues in the sleepy town of Kleinmond features names you know well, like Karen Zoid, Albert Frost and The Blues Brothers. Early bird tickets are sold out but try your luck on Computicket at R250 per person.

2 March

South African Holi One Colour Festival on the Grande Parade. This first time in Africa paint throwing festival is going to be wild! There’s a countdown on the stroke of every hour to release your coloured powder into the air and the rest of the time you’re entertained by the best local DJ’s. It’s on from 12noon until 10pm on 2 March. Tickets from R170 (early birds) to R190 (general admission) and R290 for general admission plus 5 colour powders.

1-21 March

Baxter Theatre Voices Made Night. This is image theatre at its best, united with a powerful poetic text that takes physical theatre to new heights. It brings together an ensemble of powerful performers, expressive music and evocative staging in a truly contemporary African theatrical experience.

6-30 March

Artscape Theatre: So, You Think You Can Love? This hilarious comedy is about dating, denial and the never ending quest for love.

Cardenio at Maynardville ends 9 March.

Midsummer Night’s Dream at Maynardville ends 16 March.
