Our blog theme this month is the ‘Lighter Side of Life’, so here are some things to remind you what amusing, enlightening, pleasurable and carefree things have featured on our Gracevine blog and a few new additions. We hope you have time to fit some of them in……… tell us what you did on the lighter side of life this week:
Head south to find a burst of crazy creativity in Muizenberg’s Sobeit art studio. Bunny candles and wax candlesticks are the best sellers, but there are skulls and brain candles for those with a warped sense of humour and a whole host of other unique things
The Good Bakery
While you are in Muizenberg, pop into a little lock-up garage by False Bay Station for authentic hand-made bread and divine pastries. It’s a back street affair with a few little chairs and you’ll feel like you’ve found a secret that not many people know about. Ooops – I think we’ve just told everybody!
Life’s a Beach
Everyone’s got their favourites and we’ve told you our Top 5 Swimming Spots – what’s yours?
With the beach in mind, it’s time to tone the body. Yoga’s not all stretch and breathe, it’s hard work, as your muscles will inform you a day or two after the class. Capetonians take their yoga seriously, so we have some superb yoga venues: Yo Yoga, Yoga Zone, The Shala, Shanti Cape Town , Sangha Spot, The Yoga Studio. Google for one close to you.
Dance your way to happiness
It’s physical, it’s sexy and it’s like taking a happiness pill – that’s what dancing can do for you! Read our Top 5 Dance Classes and tell us where you go to dance in Cape Town.
Laugher is the best medicine and there is an abundance of humour at the theatre this month and next. See our Top 5 Laughs At The Theatre.
Sundowner and Cocktails
We’ve already researched this for our Top 5 Outdoor Cocktail Spots, but we know there are plenty more and would love to hear your favourite places for a sundowner or cocktail.
