1. Cape Town Carnival (24 March)
This is one big street party, taking place along the Fan Walk and featuring magnificent floats and a variety of musical genres. This year’s theme is Cape-to-Cairo.
2. Cape Town Festival (18 – 21 March)
Not to be confused with Cape Town Carnival, the Cape Town festival is a heritage event of music and arts, taking place within the Company Gardens. Dates to be confirmed.
3. SA Navy Festival (16 – 18 March)
Taking place in Simon’s Town naval base, this is the one time you get to see what goes on inside the South African Navy. Entrance is free.
4. Cape Town Jazz Festival (30 – 31 March)
Hosted by the CTICC, this extremely popular event has been voted number 4 in the world of jazz events. Boasting an incredible line up of local and international talent, this world-class event is sure to tickle the fancy of anybody with an appreciation of good music.
5. ABSA Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees (31 March – 7April)
This highly regarded event, also known as KKNK, celebrates Afrikaans arts and performance and takes place in Oudtshoorn between March and April.
