We asked six Cape Grace staff members what they would like to do that they have never done before, and what is stopping them?
Michael Liffmann, Food and Beverage Manager: I have never been skiing; I have the gloves, jacket and scarf but no snow!
Malika van Reenen, Executive Chef: I’d love to drive a formula 1 car, but the cockpit is designed for someone rather smaller than me, so at 1.77m tall, it doesn’t leave me much option!
Nicki Linde, PR & Marketing Manager: What could be more calming and stress-free than working in Mauritius as a hotel sand sweeper? What’s stopping me is that my perception of how wonderful this job is, could be very wrong!
Mandy Rutherford, Food & Beverage Marketing: I’d love to learn to fly a helicopter and the only two things stopping me are enough funds and a handsome flying instructor!
Hoon Kim, Concierge: I’ve always wanted to Skydive, but I am scared of heights and it costs a lot! Hopefully one day I will do it (even if I pee in my pants)!!
Stretton Barry, House Manager: I’ve always wanted to be a contestant on the Amazing Race, Survivor and Who Wants to be a Millionaire, in that order! But I might have a hard time getting the leave application past the boss!
