Whisky and Christmas are just made for each other, so if you are wondering about gift ideas, take advice from Whisky Sommelier, Candice Baker and her top 5 suggestions:
1: The perfect whisky glass: Purchase a set of Crystal Tumblers, and if you want it bespoke, have them engraved.
2: A crystal decanter: Usually one would like to show off the label of the whisky being poured, however a decanter comes in handy when you would like to share a “cheaper” blend with friends and family and make it look good. The presentation will probably improve your guest’s opinion…
3: Indulge in some online shopping. Sites like Ardbeg and Laphroaig sell stunning whisky goodies that are otherwise only available at the distillery. If you want to spoil someone, try something unusual and rather special, like peat cones or limited edition whisky. This will certainly stand you in good stead and if you’re lucky, you’ll get a wee dram in gratitude.
4: A tutored Whisky Tasting at Bascule: This is the perfect gift for a range of whisky drinkers.
The Beginners: for those starting out who want to grow their knowledge of whisky.
The Intermediate: for the whisky drinker who wants to try more complex whiskies and learn more.
Sommeliers Choice: giving the “whisky expert” a chance to try rare drams and learn more amongst like-minded whisky lovers.
5. Bascule Whisky membership: This is the ultimate gift for a whisky connoisseur; they get to buy from a selection of over 400 different whiskies and store their bottles in the Bascule cabinet beside a crystal glass engraved with their name. No more paying per tot and membership is interchangeable between you and your partner. You also get invited to exclusive tastings and dinners. Find out more about Bascule Bar and this membership.

I’m looking and thinking of some present to offer to my brother who enjoys horseracing. My co-worker recommended finding him a part of a syndicate in a racehorse. My friend is really into horse races, too. She suggested something that i thought was similar to Noontime Badge. But, I can’t seem to locate them now. Is this a nice idea? Has anyone used them or tried a partnership racing stable before?
