Lammershoek Wines

October marks the penultimate Wine & Dine event in Signal’s History.Place.Future series and this month we’re venturing into the incredibly beautiful, yet often overlooked, Swartland region.

If you, like many others, were unlucky in your quest for tickets for the now sold-out Swartland Revolution, taking place in November, why not join us for Lammershoek Wine & Dine on the 31st October instead? It’s an excellent opportunity to experience Lammershoek wines right here at Cape Grace in the V&A Waterfront.

Lammershoek is a family-owned and run vineyard and winery in the Aprilskloof Valley of the Paardeberg. All 70ha of vineyards are farmed organically and mostly un-irrigated. There are three labels in the range: LAMMERSHOEK – where wines remain true to both terroir and grapes; LAM – the farm’s first label offering fresh, drinkable wines; the CELLAR FOOT project label where boundaries are pushed with unusual and interesting varieties.

Lammershoek also has 3ha of olive trees from which they make oil, over 40 chickens that provide eggs and a milking cow called Nigella! To learn more about the Lammershoek family – human, mineral or animal – click here.

TO BOOK contact Astrid on 021 410 7097 or on email astrid@capegrace.com.  The cost is R550 per person. Our wine and dine dinners are an informal affair as if you were dining in the Winemaker’s home at a large table of just 40 guests.  You’ll receive personal attention, incredible food pairings, a little deconstruction of winemaking terminology and probably even a few tall stories, all while drinking the Cape’s finest wines. Hard to beat!

Be sure to highlight the last of our Wine & Dine dates in your diary:

31st October – LAMMERSHOEK – A Swartland Star

27th November – RALL AND BIZOE – A Force of the Future
