JET FIGHTER PASSENGER = 'The English Electric Lightning'
You will be personally collected from the Cape Grace and transferred
to the world's only twin-engine two-seater (side-by-side) supersonic
interceptor known as The English Electric Lightning. Two Rolls Royce
Avon 302 turbojets power this amazing aircraft that is the crème-de-la-crème
of fighter jets. The Lightning still holds a number of world climb-to-altitude
records and is known for its vertical climb performance, capable of
a speed of Mach 2.2 (1500mph - The speed of sound), and an initial
climb rate of 50,000 ft/min. Your training includes a full morning's
briefing, survival training, ejection seat training, oxygen management,
as well as the kit and all your equipment. Time duration of flight
is approximately 30 minutes and includes personal return transport.
