Spoil Mum The Cape Grace Way

“My mother… she is beautiful, softened at the edges and tempered with a spine of steel. I want to grow old and be like her.” ― Jodi Picoult.

Mother’s Day, celebrated in South Africa on 13 May, is just around the corner. While finding a gift that even begins to express your love and gratitude can be tough going, a day out at Cape Grace just might do the trick. From delicious treats to luxurious spa treatments, here’s how we suggest you pamper, treat and otherwise indulge the mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers and other wonderful women in your life.

Our Special Mother’s Day Lunch

Treat mum to a decadent buffet lunch – a memorable experience perfect for the whole family. Begin with a selection of warm, homemade breads, pates and spreads before dipping into our chilled seafood platter, piled high with succulent oysters, poached prawns and fish. Nibble on creative salads with quinoa, lentils and chickpeas, curried cauliflower and toasted almonds, seared tuna and pickled mushroom, or smoked ostrich with balsamic poached pears and gorgonzola. Then dive into the hot dishes including a buttery hake curry, beef fillet and roast chicken. Desserts are where our pastry chefs really shine, so tuck into cheesecakes, panna cottas, mini doughnuts, eclairs, tartlets, chocolate slices, macaroons and local cheeses (we won’t tell how many rounds you go back for).

Time out at the Spa

We hear that manicures pair incredibly well with macaroons. Good thing then that our Spa has three special Mother’s Day packages to choose from this May. Each experience is complete with a selection of steaming loose leaf teas and scones, so join in for this one and take some time out to reconnect in style.

  1. Unwind – A 2-hour pamper session for the hands and feet, including a 30-min back massages for the ultimate destressing treat.
  2. Head-to-Toe – A 60-min blissful full body massage begins this grooming session, followed by an express manicure, and lastly, a wash and blowdry to ensure she looks as good as she is certain to feel.
  3. Indulge – A 60-min body massage followed by a 60-min facial leaves winter skin nourished and cared for. End this spa experience by reclining in the library with some moreish sweet and savoury treats.

Email to book your treatments.
