Cape Grace Captures the Aroma of Cape Town with New Signature Fynbos Fragrance and Tour

As a tribute to our coming of age, we have launched a bespoke range of fynbos-fragranced in-room amenities entitled “The Fynbos Collection”.

The range was developed exclusively for Cape Grace in collaboration with local fragrancier, Agata Karolina, founder of perfumery –  House of Gozdawa. The fynbos fragrance pays tribute to Cape Grace’s cradled location between land and sea – interpreting it with a captivating tapestry of scents. The range is now available for purchase.

Derived from the Dutch word meaning “fine bush”, fynbos is one of only six floral kingdoms in the world and is the only one that occurs entirely in one country – South Africa.

“We endeavour to put our guests in touch with the social and natural heritage of Cape Town so that they leave with a deeper understanding of the rich complexity of our country. Fynbos, being incredibly rare and resilient, has been integral in helping to create that special sense of place for our visitors”, comments Nelson Caboz, Executive Manager at Cape Grace.

Distilled from 100% natural oils, the fynbos fragrance includes fresh top notes of locally-grown citrus and middle notes of earthy fynbos, grounded by wooded tones of Vetiver.

The base of the amenities collection has been chosen with equal care, the softening emollients luxurious on the skin. Locally designed packaging has also been created to be as minimal and reusable as possible – sustainability kept front of mind.

The release of the collection coincides with the launch of a unique Fynbos Tour – an exclusive experience for in-house guests. The chauffeured excursion aims to enrich attendees with a deeper understanding of South Africa’s unique flora, and includes a guided tour along Table Mountain, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and home to many exquisite species of the Cape Floral Kingdom.

Curated by Durbanville Hills, the safari vehicle tour grants guests access to exclusive areas of the mountain, not usually open to the public.

Guests are also gifted Cape Grace’s Fynbos Collection of amenities to take home and enjoy – a sensory reminder of their memorable experience.

Additional ‘coming of age’ initiatives include an exclusive collection of fynbos-inspired diamond and tanzanite jewellery entitled ‘21 Years of Elegance’, as well as a limited edition cocktail range. Both the jewellery and cocktail range will be available until the beginning of December 2018.
