Have you, like me, got a passion for photography but absolutely no idea how to [really] use your camera? And does the thought of spending weeks or months on a course plodding through the manual fill you with dread and mind-numbing boredom? Well, listen up because I’ve got the course for you!
For the past two years I’ve been lugging my trusty Canon around with almost no idea of how to work the manual settings (round of applause to all camera manufacturers for installing Auto settings!) Up until January this year I still had no idea what ISO, Shutter-Speed and Aperture meant – or did. Cue professional photographer David Lazarus from DLPHOTO studio.
This part-time course takes just 4 Saturdays to complete! Classes are kept purposely small [5 people max] to ensure that all participants receive hands-on attention. The course is aimed at beginners, as well as those with some experience in photography. You’re encouraged not to purchase any cameras, lenses or equipment until the course is completed, as this gives you time to assess the area/s you’d like to concentrate on – landscapes, food, weddings, fashion etc. You will be advised on what equipment would best suit your interests and it doesn’t have to cost and arm and a leg. You’re encouraged to look out for good second-hand equipment, which suppliers are reliable and how to tell if the seller is trying to palm off a dud. Very valuable information indeed! You will also be told about the various employment options available to photographers and the income each one could generate.
So, if it’s a fun, affordable and informative course you’re looking for, I would highly recommend this one – the insider tips alone are priceless!
Find David at the DLPhoto Studio, 60 Barnet Street, Gardens – next to Dunkley Square.
