Cape Grace COVID-19 Statement

The outbreak of COVID-19 has caused disruption across the world. This necessitated immediate and extraordinary measures to prevent the spread of this disease, hence a nation-wide lockdown was announced in South Africa as of 26 March 2020. As such, our doors have been temporarily closed, until further notice.

Subsequently, various phases of lockdown have been introduced to further curb the spread of the virus and to allow for a gradual opening of the economy. South African borders remain closed to international travel, as such we are awaiting further easing of regulations to be in a position to re-open. The next phase plans to jumpstart the recovery of the economy as South Africa emerges from the pandemic.

Our Reservations Team remains available and can be reached on reservations@capegrace.com

This time has been an unprecedented test and demanded that we dig deep. Fear has never been an option, faith remains our guiding light. We choose to have faith – faith that we will be able to open our doors soon and faith that we can welcome you home, before long.

In the meantime we have been working steadily on our post COVID-19 management plan, ensuring alignment to the required standards for hygiene, cleaning and COVID-19 prevention and mitigation, as directed by the South African Government and the WHO.

The development of these protocols comprises practices and strategies that will enable the operation of the hotel, to be reactivated with the relevant health and safety measures firmly in place.

We take pride in creating handcrafted authentic experiences for our guests and hold ourselves to the highest standard. We have welcomed guests over many years with remarkable care. It is with this same dedication and diligence that we are elevating our cleanliness standards and protocols.

Our meticulously crafted safety standards includes elevated sanitation across the hotel with disinfectants for use against COVID-19. Sanitisation will be extended to all guest areas, culinary preparation areas and housekeeping procedures.  Stringent practices will be prioritised to adhere to regulations in terms of social distancing, the wearing of masks, personal hygiene and elevated cleanliness. Our employees are trained on the importance of increased sanitation and all the prescribed procedures in this situation, this includes any information and assistance which our guests may require.

In the meantime, we are waiting with open doors and hearts to receive you, soonest.
