Our Head Sommelier: Meet Alvezo Abrahams

Alvezo Abrahams’ journey with Cape Grace began in 2011, when he joined us as a room service attendant. Raised on a wine farm, his early connection to the land and its harvest quietly shaped his future in wine. Over the years, his dedication, natural curiosity, and refined palate have enabled him to rise through our ranks, earning accolades, industry qualifications, and the respect of his peers along the way.

 

Now Head Sommelier, Alvezo brings a sense of grace, depth, and storytelling to every pour. His service is as thoughtful as it is knowledgeable, shaped by years of quiet dedication and an intuitive understanding of wine. For Alvezo, wine is deeply personal — an experience that stirs memory, emotion, and place, inviting guests to slow down, savour, and connect with something meaningful in every glass.
